Volunteer Community Leadership

EMHS is governed by community volunteers who bring to their work a broad spectrum of skills, experience, and public service.

The Board of Directors bears the final authority and accountability for EMHS.  The board governs in order to fulfill the mission of EMHS and provide responsible stewardship.

Stanley S. Bergen Jr., MD, Stonington

Dr. Bergen is the retired founding president of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a former trustee and chair of Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. Dr. Bergen chairs the Strategic Planning Committee.

Carl W. Flora, Esq., Presque Isle

Carl Flora is an attorney and serves as president of the Loring Development Authority. He chairs the Audit and Compliance Committee. Carl formerly chaired The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) Board of Trustees.

Nichi S. Farnham, Bangor

Nichi Farnham represents District 32 in the Maine State Senate. She is a retired captain, US Air Force, and a former city councilor and mayor of Bangor. Nichi chairs the Nominating Function Team.
