Charlie J. Hatfield II, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH), and M. Michelle Hood, FACHE, president and CEO of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS) have announced that Gregory E. Roraff, FACHE, of Marlette, Michigan has been selected as the new president and chief executive officer of BHMH. Roraff has served as CEO of Marlette Regional Hospital since July 2008.
Forty-two area freshmen interested in healthcare careers were able to learn about their options in a fun way, as they attended Survivor Camp: Adventures in Healthcare on the campus of Eastern Maine Community College.

This year, there are only eight long-term care facilities receiving the recognition in Maine, which are part of a select group of 519 in the nation.
Three of Maine's health systems have joined forces to conduct a statewide study to better understand community health needs. Working together under the name OneMaine Health Collaborative, the partnership brings together Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS), MaineGeneral Health and MaineHealth. Combined, the three systems serve all sixteen Maine counties.
The Wellness Council of Maine (WLCME), a subsidiary of the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) announced that seven EMHS member organizations have received WELCOA Well Workplace Designations: The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle, AHS and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Charles A Dean Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in Greenville, The EMHS Home Office in Brewer, Inland Hospital in Waterville, and Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield. By becoming Well Workplaces, winners demonstrate that their worksite health strategy is not only comprehensive, but effective and has produced measurable results.
