What happens in state and federal government has an enormous effect on local healthcare and effective advocacy means helping to change what is into what should be.
EMHS president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood, FACHE is pleased to announce that John Ronan, FACHE has been named acting president of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. In addition to this role, Ronan will remain president of Blue Hill Memorial Hospital and a senior vice president at EMHS. The presidency at MCMH became vacant when Charlie Therrien was recently selected as president at Mercy Hospital in Portland. Mercy is also a member of EMHS.
EMHS president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood, FACHE, is pleased to announce that Anthony (Tony) J. Filer will join EMHS later this fall as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Filer has a strong resume with his most recent position as chief financial officer at Presence Health, a large integrated system in Chicago.
EMHS president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood, FACHE is pleased to announce that Gregory T. LaFrancois, CPA, MHA, FACHE, has been selected as the new president of TAMC. In this role, LaFrancois will also serve as a senior vice president of EMHS. Located in Presque Isle, TAMC is EMHS’ northernmost member.
Deborah Carey Johnson, RN, EMMC’s president and chief executive officer, is pleased to announce that Donna Russell-Cook, FACHE, has been appointed president of Eastern Maine Medical Center. Debbie, who has served as president and CEO of EMMC since 2004, will remain chief executive officer of EMMC and senior vice president of EMHS until her retirement in July, 2017.
